The Many Hot Selling Products for eBay Auctions

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by James M Murray

Many people who are trying to start an eBay business spend a great deal of time trying to figure out which items sell the best on eBay. Many of these people have elaborate systems for determining this information, and many others purchase expensive courses that teach them how to find this information as well. None of that is necessary. Everything you need to know is right in front of you on the eBay website!

Take a look at any category, and you will see the word 'hot' beside some items. These items are not marked as hot sellers randomly, there is a method to the madness! Items only get marked as hot when there have been more than thirty bids placed on the item. All you have to do is wonder around the eBay website for a while to find an item that will do well.

However, most power sellers will agree that there is more to figuring out which items sell best than this. In fact, they claim that it is a science. A great way to start your search for items that will result in a successful auction in the future is to do research on the auctions that were successful in the past. You can view old listings that have completed at their sub-domain listings.ebay .

A new way to determine what items sell best on eBay is 'eBay Marketplace Research.' Marketplace Research will allow you to view important statistical information on the buying trends at eBay. This product contains all of the data one could possibly ever need to determine how well or how poorly, an item will do in an eBay auction. There is a small fee for using the eBay Marketplace Research tools, however.

Another tool that will be very useful in your quest for finding hot selling items for your eBay auctions is the listing of popular eBay search terms that is found on the site. This list can be found at their sub-domain popular.ebay . This list is divided into categories, which will make it easier to determine how popular your potential item may be.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that an item will do poorly, or that it will do well without doing your homework on the item first. Some of the strangest things sell for the highest prices, while items that would sell quickly in any other environment just sit there. Almost any eBay Power Seller will tell you that the key to a successful auction rests in the amount of research you put into the items you hope to sell.

How to Troubleshoot Dropped Search Engine Rankings

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Ross Dunn

Are you baffled about a recent drop in your search engine rankings? Do you know where to start and get a handle on what the problem might be and how to remedy it? One option to consider is using search engine forums as a resource. They are full of questions from people who have experienced similar situations and are great resources for an answer or two. But let's say you really want to get to the bottom of the problem and you want to do it yourself. The following are some of the beginning steps StepForth takes when evaluating dropped rankings.

Retrace Your Steps

Write a list of everything that anyone has done to your site within the past 3 weeks. Now look for anything that could have negatively impacted your content, site structure, or the reliability of your URLs. Once you write down the course of events the answer might pop right out at you. Here are some common situational culprits:

* You just moved your website to a different hosting provider: did your site experience much, if any, downtime during the switch over? Quality hosting companies will allow you to setup your site on their servers before the switch takes place so that downtime is minimized if not removed entirely. If a search engine happened to visit your site while it was down there is a small chance your rankings would be negatively affected but it will only happen for a short period. Once the search engine re-indexes your website everything should be back in order.

* The structure of your site has permanently changed: did you redirect the traffic from the old URLs to the new URLs using a 301 redirect? If not then you should. A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which tells any visiting search engine to permanently change its index to reflect the new site structure.

* Contact your hosting company to check if your server has had any downtime recently. In most cases search engines will not drop your rankings if they visit your site and it is offline once; however, if this happens consistently then your rankings can fail. If your hosting company states that downtime has occurred then you have at least one possible answer for your ranking woes. As long as your site is now reliably online and has not been offline for an extended period (days or weeks) the rankings should reappear as your site is re-indexed. There may be a notable drop in rankings but in most cases they will return to pre-incident status.

Check Your Content

Is all of your textual content up to date? It is amazing just how quickly a website's rankings can drop when someone accidentally overwrites optimized pages with older, non-optimized pages. Check the content and if you find old content just overwrite it with the newer content and wait for the search engines to come back and re-index your website; Google and Yahoo are likely to come back within a week or even a day.

Check Your Server Headers

When a search engine visits your website it must first respond to any commands provided by your server. These commands are often identifiable in the server header. As a result, we like to verify that no incorrect, unusual or unnecessary commands are stashed in the header of your site. We use our free Server Header Checker Tool to review any headers and take action if required but there are others freely available as well.

Search Engine Webmaster Tool Resources

If you have not already done so I strongly recommend claiming your website on Yahoo Site Explorer, Google Webmaster Central and Live Search Webmaster Center. Each of these fine resources provides extremely useful feedback (from each respective search engine's perspective) for site owners such as:

* Whether your site is currently banned. If you are, in some cases they will tell you why.
* Notes on any impediments the search engine has experienced when trying to index your website.
* Who is linking to your website.
* Which pages are the most popular on your website.
* Which keywords lead the most traffic to your website.

In addition these free webmaster resources allow you to submit an XML sitemap of your website so that you can ensure no pages are missed when the search engines index your website.

Search Your Site for SPAM

It is possible that your site has been "lucky" enough not to have been penalized until now for certain content transgressions. You see, search engines don't always catch SPAM right away. In fact, I occasionally find myself shaking my head in disbelief when I see blatantly spammy sites appearing in the top 10 search results. Your site may not be entirely spammy but all it takes is for one transgression to come to light for a search engine to penalize your search engine rankings. What SPAM is and how to identify it is an article unto itself so check out news.stepforth.com for tips - just search for "SPAM" in the search box.

Contact an SEO or Request a Forum Review

If you haven't found a reasonable answer after following the instructions above I would recommend either contacting a reputable SEO company for advice or posting your ranking problems publicly on a popular search marketing forum within a resource like Webmaster World. There are a lot of people on forums that can be incredibly helpful and may have an answer for you. But a word to the wise, make sure the person providing advice has a solid reputation. I strongly recommend reviewing a number of their previous posts and Googling them to ensure they have suitable experience to provide advice – unless of course you have a 'no duh' moment where their advice makes perfect sense.

3 Reasons To Buy An Existing Domain Name

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Deanna Mascle

When the time comes to set up your own internet business one of your first thoughts is to buy a domain name to establish a web site for your new business. You may spend a lot of time dreaming up possible names and testing their availability but there is another option you should consider -- buying an existing domain name.

Obviously you do not want to buy an existing web site for your new business as you wish to create a web site that accurately reflects your business vision, but there are a number of advantages to buying an existing domain name and if you do not yet have your heart set on a new domain name you will likely find an existing domain name available at a price not much greater than you will pay for a fresh name and an existing domain name brings a number of advantages.

One of the primary advantages of an existing domain name is that it already has traffic flowing toward it. Obviously the amount of traffic will vary greatly depending on what the current owner has done for promotion but any traffic is more than the zero visitors a fresh name will deliver.

Another advantage is from search engine optimization. Many domainers will have at least put in a small amount of time optimizing their domain name portfolio for search engines. Others put in a great deal of time and effort targeting key words and making sure the domain name is listed. It takes time for various domain names to work their way into search engine listings and if someone has already done that work for you then you are ready to capitalize on their groundwork as soon as you take over the name.

A third advantage is that the wild frontier of short, targeted, key word domain names is over. It is not impossible but very difficult to find an unregistered domain name in a short, catchy phrase and even more so if you have a specific key word in mind. However, many of the domainers who registered these domain names did so as an investment rather than a long-term project of their own and so are willing to sell. The only way to acquire many of these great domain names is by purchasing an existing domain name. You will not be able to find one to register fresh.

Choosing the right domain name for your internet business enterprise can be an exciting and challenging time but if you take the time to learn more about the available domain names you can buy then you just might find the bargain of a lifetime and start off your business with a bang.

An RSS feed is your very own news tickertape of your website or blog - Distributing updated headlines quicker than a New York minute, like an electronic newsboy yelling, "EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!" RSS, standing for really simple syndication, is used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcats. It contains either a summary of content from your site or the full text and automatically emails your subscribed readers as soon as new content is updated on your site.

RSS feeds have many advantages if you keep your site current and updated often. Having the option of giving RSS feeds for your news or content is also great for your audience. It makes it easier for them to catch up on what's new with your company, and it helps you cater to your selected group of readers. Here's three big advantages of using RSS feeds :

RSS ADVANTAGE 1: Stay in your clients' radar. RSS makes it possible to share information directly between websites. You don't have to hope your customers actually read your promotional e-mails or re-visit your site on a regular basis. They will automatically be informed every time you update your web pages with new articles.

RSS ADVANTAGE 2: Find your user group. People with similar interests are brought together through their selections of RSS feeds. This helps your target group find you.

RSS ADVANTAGE 3: It looks good for you! You will be perceived as an active, innovative source (which of course you are). So be interesting and give your readers incentive to stick with your feed.

Overall, using RSS feeds for your business is a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Blog Posts that Get Attention

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Sharon Housley

Blogs are now a dime a dozen, and bloggers need to make their blog posts stand out. Developing a blog following is not as easy as it once was. Learn how to write blog posts that attract readers and retain their attention. Follow these guidelines to cultivate readers...

1. Draw Attention

Use titles to attract the reader's attention to the blog post. The title should mimic newspaper headlines and generate interest in the blog post. The title can be controversial, but not to the extent of being misleading. Use action words in the title. Bloggers will often come up with a handful of potential titles for blog posts, and then settle on the title that is best suited to a particular blog post.

2. Deliver

Having a catchy title, but following it with content that fails to deliver, will not endear you to your readers. The blog content must deliver what is promised in the blog title, or readers will unsubscribe and stop reading. When deciding on a blog title, do not stray too far from the content, as the two are intricately related -- the title will attract the reader's attention, but the content must then live up to expectations... or the blogger's reputation will suffer.

3. Accurate

Nothing stains a blogger's reputation like inaccurate information, so be sure that your blog posts contain accurate information. Intentionally posting inaccurate or false information will significantly damage a blogger's reputation. But if an error unintentionally or inadvertently occurs in a blog post, be sure to quickly post a retraction or correction, along with an explanation and an apology in order to salvage your good reputation.

4. Relevant & Timely

Blog posts should always be relevant and timely. Hearing about something long after it has occurred will not captivate readers. Blog about information that is occurring in the here and now. If you are going to write something that is no longer timely, be sure to add some sort of twist, or include new or updated information to make it relevant.

5. On Topic

All blogs should have a general theme that connects all the posts on the blog. Readers will expect posts that are related, so stay true to the blog's theme and topic.

6. Use Keywords

Use keywords liberally in blog posts. Search engines will attempt to categorize the content of a blog post and discern its general topic. By including related keywords or keyword phrases, search engines will have an easier time classifying the blog's contents. Additionally, a blog that uses keywords will have a better chance of ranking well for those keywords or keyword phrases in organic search listings.

7. Evaluate Web Logs

Review web logs to determine what blog posts have been popular with readers. Then figure out how to provide similar or related content that might also be of interest to those readers.

8. Original

Blog posts should always contain original and unique content. If you are simply re-posting information from others, include editorial content or a different spin to the information. Readers do not want to constantly rehash the same information -- they are interested in reading new material.

9. Chunky Content

Break content into smaller, readable chunks. Most website visitors will just scan paragraphs for information, and very few will take the time to read all the words contained in a post. Use bulleted lists, or break web copy into paragraphs with bolded sub-topics that appear before the paragraphs.

Writing blog posts is not just about spewing forth content. The best blogs are well thought out, and contain provocative and interesting unique content. Follow the above steps to produce a relevant blog worth reading.

SEO Tips for a New Website

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Ashish juneja

If you're planning to build a brand new web site for your business, SEO should not be an afterthought; you need to think about it right from the beginning, along with your site's content. The first and the most important part of an SEO campaign is keyword research. You need to research for keywords which your target audience might use to search for your products or services.

Once you are done with your keyword research, you now need to build your website's content around it. Keywords really need to be in the body of your content in order to be noticed by the search engines. There are various techniques we need to follow in terms of keyword placement.
The biggest mistake people generally make is putting up "under construction" pages onto the live site. You would never want search engines to index a blank page. Always take your site live when you have real and original content on all the pages.

The next thing is getting a search engine friendly URL structure. Always try to keep the URL structure simple and always try to keep all your website pages closer to the root directory. Search engines like clean and simple static URLs. Try to name your pages according to the keywords targeted on those pages. Search engines really like keywords in URLs.

All websites should have a well defined site navigation that makes it easier for both a visitor and a search engine spider. Try to link your pages from other pages on the website. Ideally you should provide as many ways as possible to search engine robots to spider your website. A textual sitemap containing links to all the pages (or to the important pages) is one thing that every website must have.

In addition to a textual sitemap one other technique that you can use to make sure all your pages are indexed in the search engines is a search engine sitemap (or an XML sitemap). It lists all the pages of your website in XML format. Earlier search engines required you to manually submit these sitemaps but recent changes by the search engines allow you to just mention the location of the XML sitemap in the robots.txt file and then search engines can automatically pick the sitemap from there.

These all are some basic tips but if you really are serious about making it big on the web you will need to consult a good internet marketing UK who can provide you all kinds of services which can improve your overall presence on the web.

Getting Around ISP Traffic Shaping with a VPN

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Blacklogic1

With a VPN, it's easy to get around blocks on BitTorrent, Skype and other applications put in place by ISPs like Rogers and Comcast.

Increasingly, Internet service providers are using a technique known as traffic shaping to try and control what their customers do with the connection that they paid their hard-earned money for. With an anonymous VPN service, it's possible to circumvent the blocks on services like Skype and BitTorrent put into place by Comcast, Rogers and others.
How does traffic shaping work?

To the implications of traffic shaping on consumers (and, concurrently, find ways to evade such shaping), it's important to know how traffic shaping works to block or slow down Internet traffic.

Canadian service providers, most notoriously Rogers, have implemented harsh traffic shaping policies in an attempt to stop peer-to-peer file sharing on their networks. Rogers has gone so far as to block encrypted traffic of any sort and, at one point, block the download of files with a .torrent extension. This is typically done through QoS (quality of service) hardware at the ISP's end and, thus, is impossible to circumvent without using a VPN service like Blacklogic. In the case of Rogers, such extreme traffic shaping caused an extensive backlash and tarnished the company's reputation, perhaps permanently, as customers moved in droves to service providers that gave them the bandwidth and access that they pay money for.
Comcast, Sandvine and packet forgery

Not to be outdone, Comcast, the largest broadband provider in the United States, began shaping users' BitTorrent traffic in 2007 using a system called Sandvine. Insidious and dishonest, Sandvine actually injects its own data into a user's BitTorrent session. This operation is worse than traffic shaping, because it is actual forgery of a legitimate user's data. By sending TCP RST (reset) packets to peers in a torrent swarm, a user is effectively prevented from seeding a torrent file without resorting to high-level encryption that is not supported by all torrent clients. This slows down the download for everyone involved.
Getting around traffic shaping with a VPN

While there are ways around most traffic shaping and filtering, they are often unreliable and hinder transfer speeds so much as to be unusable. The easiest way to get around traffic shaping is by using an anonymous VPN. Services like Blacklogic were designed with downloading in mind. Using a Blacklogic VPN, for example, is the same as sitting at a computer in Canada, where Blacklogic' servers are located. Torrent files can seed, Skype can make calls, and blocked websites are suddenly unblocked, not to mention that the access provided is completely anonymous. Whether you're being blocked by Rogers, Comcast or another ISP, a VPN is the only 100% reliable way to get around BitTorrent, Skype and other traffic shaping.
The last word on Sandvine and traffic shaping

As long as you're not doing anything illegal, your service provider has absolutely no right to try and limit what you do with your connection that you paid for. If you can't send them a message by switching to a different ISP, use a VPN and get around their draconian blocks.

Hot Items for eBay Auctions

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Roberto Bell

Many people who are trying to start an eBay business spend a great deal of time trying to figure out which items sell the best on eBay. Many of these people have elaborate systems for determining this information, and many others purchase expensive courses that teach them how to find this information as well. None of that is necessary. Everything you need to know is right in front of you - on the eBay website!

Take a look at any category, and you will see the word "hot" beside some items. These items are not marked as hot sellers randomly - there is a method to the madness!

You can view old listings that have completed at: http://listings.ebay.com .

A new way to determine what items sell best on eBay is "eBay Marketplace Research." Marketplace Research will allow you to view important statistical information on the buying trends at eBay. This product contains all of the data one could possibly ever need to determine how well - or how poorly - an item will do in an eBay auction. There is a small fee for using the eBay Marketplace Research tools, however.

Another tool that will be very useful in your quest for finding hot selling items for your eBay auctions is the listing of popular eBay search terms that is found on the site. This list can be found at: http://popular.ebay.com/ . This list is divided into categories, which will make it easier to determine how popular your potential item may be.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that an item will do poorly, or that it will do well without doing your homework on the item first. Some of the strangest things sell for the highest prices, while items that would sell quickly in any other environment just sit there. Almost any eBay Power Seller will tell you that the key to a successful auction rests in the amount of research you put into the items you hope to sell.

"TRS" CAT FTW

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by 2H

"TRS", or the "Totally Rad Show" for the uninitiated, is the name of everyone's favorite video podcast.

At least it should be.

The podcast is hosted by the TRio (get it?) of Jeff Cannata, Alex Albrecht, and Dan Trachtenberg, or CAT (Cannata Albrecht Trachtenberg) as I will call them from now on until that acronym catches on and sweeps the nation head over heels, making it dance while doing a handstand (or at least until I finish this piece so I can give it a catchy title).

The three gracious hosts spend an hour every week in front of a green screen discussing their opinions on movies, video games, comics, and television, never failing to provide humor throughout.

Behind the camera is the man who controls all of the technical aspects of the show. The man they call Steve; the man I like to call the "David Copperfield" of video podcasting.

Why do I give him this name?

Because he has the ability to make words appear as if from nowhere. And he makes green screen magic. Enough said.

The appeal of the show comes from the chemistry that CAT have (has?) with one another, along with their control over the content of each week's episode. There is never a lack of enthusiasm on their part because they discuss topics that genuinely interest them.

In fact, they are so enthusiastic about the topics they discuss, that in one episode, one topic in particular caused Jeff "you're writing a check you 'Cannata' cash" to erupt into an unrequited fit of rage over his favorite television show, "The Shield." In the episode, Jeff becomes momentarily irate with Dan, who doesn't follow "The Shield", for ruining a major plot point of the show... for himself (Dan) after looking the show up on the internet. Now if that's not passion, I just don't know what is.

Some people might go as far as to call these guys the Three Kings of "nerd culture" (the Three Amigos, the Three Musketeers, the Three Men and a Baby, okay I'll stop); at the very least I call them damn entertaining.

Full of candid discussions and more laughs than you can shake a large but manageable stick at, the "Totally Rad Show" is a podcast that you'd have to be asleep not to enjoy.

Don't take my word for it. Head over to The Main Feature to find a link to the "Totally Rad Show."

How to market your product with an e-newsletter

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Jerret Turner

The single most effective marketing tool you will have as an online marketer is your own e-newsletter. Also known as an e-zine, your newsletter is an easy, fast, and cost effective solution to the cumbersome, slow, and expensive direct mail option.

Publishing your own e-newsletter is important for two reasons. First, it helps you keep in touch with your current customers and prospects - at virtually zero cost. A customer forgotten is a customer lost.

Second, publishing an e-newsletter will help you capture e-mail addresses for your future marketing efforts. Anyone who takes the time to subscribe to your newsletter has more than a passing curiosity in what you're offering. Before you hit the send button, you need to answer a few basic questions.

Question #1: What is your ultimate goal?

Is your e-newsletter strictly a marketing vehicle for your product? Believe it or not, many people use an e-newsletter to provide information about a topic that is close to their hearts. How will you measure your goal? More sales? Higher opt-in rate? More media coverage? Whichever direction you choose, make sure you stay consistent. You wouldn't want to heavily promote your products one month and then write a personal story the next. At best you'll annoy your subscribers.

Question #2: To whom will you be delivering?

Not only do you need to set a goal for your publication, you also must decide who will read your news and why. As you research your newsletter topics, imagine your ideal reader. What are they interested in and why? What will a typical reader gain from this information? What is it about your products that appeals to your target audience? Defining your audience helps you define your content.

It also helps you not to become overwhelmed by too much information. By focusing your topics to a specific audience, your research and writing efforts will be much more streamlined.

Question #3: How will you reach your audience?

You need to fully understand that your readers will expect something from you on a consistent basis. It's useless to set a publication goal only to let your subscriber base stagnate. Once you set your goal, you need to take the steps necessary to meet it. The next section outlines the steps you can take to start your e-newsletter off on the right foot.

Question #4: Do you want extra income with your newsletter?

Eventually, writing your newsletter and maintaining your e-mail lists will cut into your 'income' time. So, it's natural to think that you can charge for your e-newsletter. If you think moving to paying subscribers is the right choice, consider these options to get started.

1. Charge a nominal, yearly fee - say in the $8 - $12 range. Throughout the subscription period, send free, unexpected bonus material. You're trying to create value in your subscribers' minds.

2. Charge a high fee - $29 or more per year. This will cut your subscriber base but those who hang on will be more valuable in the long run. The benefit of this option is that you will have less e-mail maintenance headaches. The draw back is that you could lose your entire subscriber base.

5 Essential Key Points Before Purchasing Resale Rights

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Chris Raine

Are you prone to buying one more batch of resale rights products after another and then wonder why can't I make money with this or is it that you not sure how to make money, which ever it is just read on!

Resale rights products at their best can be used for many things including but not exclusively for list building, back end sales opportunities, packages, and much much more. With all things in life if you get your strategy right you are likely to make money, and if you get it wrong you are likely to miss out and lose money.

So lets start by avoiding one of the pitfalls faced with resale rights products and that's the area of low quality products.

If you conduct a search on any of the major search engines you will find no shortage of sites offering resale rights products either as individual or packaged products. The first major dilemma is the fact that these products have often been around for what seems like an eternity and hence the content is often no longer relevant.

For the more discerning potential buyer they will know this and will have been exposed to these products on numerous times and as such would not want these products even if they were given away.

Lets start with some form of list that will enable you to decide on what represents a decent product to purchase.

1. Can you establish when the product was published?

Things move very quickly and techniques are renewed and improved so if you care about your reputation you want to make sure you are marketing valuable and relevant content to your buyers. So with this in mind I would avoid if possible products over a year old and definitely over two. If you are unsure has to the age of the product ask the seller.

2.Check for competition, go on to the search engines and try an establish in numbers who else is selling this product..

If you find a sizeable amount of people selling the same product running into page after page of competition you seriously need to ask yourself what is the likelihood of creating a success with this product. There might be millions of visitors on-line each day, but if there is too much competition how is the visitor going to establish your own unique selling proposition..

3. Does the product come with a marketing package?

The more assistance the better, if you have sales pages and graphics available this makes your job so much easier. You can be up and running a lot quicker, if your resale rights product does not contain sales letters and graphics, I would recommend searching elsewhere.

4. To sell a product it needs to be solving or meeting a need, are you sure the product you are looking to purchase does this?

Potential customers are looking at ways to save money, or time or solve a problem of sorts. For your product to be a potential winner it needs to be achieving a need. Your customers happiness is paramount and hence the quality of your product must be utmost in your mind.

5. The price of the product.

The price point of physical products is driven by the quality of the product and with digital products the same applies. When searching for resale rights you will find a massive difference in prices, ranging from lets say $20 to $ 40 right up to $167 to $197. This should normally tell you something and although pricing may be of consideration to you, there is still no point investing $40 because its cheap, and then it won't sell against spending $197 and the products selling like crazy, so don't let price rule your head completely and evaluate the products worth.

This represents five of the considerations you must have before purchasing resale rights products, I hope this proves useful in your future decision making.

The Popularity of BLOGS

by jeremy3737

Blogs are hot in demand. Blogging is the current craze in communication over the internet. The web horizon is alive with active blogging activities, indulged in by people with different cultures from all over the world. The involvement with blogging is occupying much of the blogger's time. Efforts spent on the blog reveal admirable results in terms of good content that is varied and of depth offering appeal and enjoyment to readers.

The popularity of blogs can be attributed to the following reasons:

(1) Blogs are easy to use

Blogs have the support from standardized technologies . Blogging can be done with real ease. Publishing content on the web can now be done with any hassle. Additionally, each blog can reference the information on other blogs. Blogs provide the bloggers with the opportunity to provide comments easily on other blog posts. This process opens up the opportunity to build good relationships. The relative ease in writing your thoughts and posting them for other bloggers to read certainly goes well with bloggers.

(2) Blogs are easily set up

There are numerous blogging software that will support the easy set up of any blog. Technological knowledge or expertise is not a prerequisite in setting up the blog. These blogging software additionally supports bloggers in many other areas such as keeping shared record of their work easily and convenient posting of comments.

(3) Blog owners are real humans

Behind every blog is a real human being. Each blog owner is different in many ways from the others. Blogging has brought people of different cultures together through communicating on their blogs. The reason is because the blog is basically approachable. Blogs encourage dialog which is so vital to the development of relationships amongst bloggers. The blog requires the human voice, and this makes blogging exceptionally special in terms of personalization through each blog. These factors actually increase the popularity of blogs today.

(4) Good networking communities are created by blogs

It is inherent in the culture of blogging that bloggers communicate with one another via link lists, their personal posts and through the posting of their comments on the blogs of others. This process supports the dissemination of information as well as making referencing of other bloggers' information very much easy. The interchange of information and knowledge brings bloggers closer together. The opportunity to build mutual understanding, trust and cordial relationship increases as the networking mechanism develops.

(5) Conversational culture of blogs

Blogs allow bloggers to speak with personal voices. Conversations are easily created and distributed, giving rise to the much desired network that every blogger would love to start. The conversational culture of blogging brings out the true spirit of blogging. Bloggers speak with honesty and transparency. They want the conversations to be true and real in terms of sincerity and meaning. The conversations can be carried elsewhere beyond the blog itself. In effect, the blog will readily support the connection of bloggers with similar interests.

(6) Blogs are well-loved by search engines

Search engines love blogs intensely. The main reasons are that blogs usually contain many keyword-rich pages and constantly updated content. These content are often appropriately linked to other content, and this actually increases the popularity of blogs. Blogs that have a fair amount of incoming links certainly indicate that their content is well-written, relevant and well-received, and that their credibility will be positively assessed by search engines. Blogs that show good content indicates their authority on the subject.

(7) Blogs are versatile

Blogs make communication real and easy. They are versatile by nature. It is so convenient to make announcements, put up event calendars and to conduct exchange of information and knowledge. Technologies have benefited blogs immensely. Blogs provide good opportunities for better web visibility and syndication. Readers benefit from the easy access to other new information that they need from other blogs without having to disclose their email addresses.

Blogs are used for personal and corporate intentions. Many technologies in their synergy have made blogs where they are today. The communication scenario on the internet has improved dramatically, and this is attributed solely to the popularity of blogs.

Introducing the Blue Comet Cafe

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Singair

Everyone wishes they had seen Bruce Springsteen at The Main Point in Philadelphia or Elton John at the Troubadour in Los Angeles or Norah Jones at The Bitter End in New York City when they were just starting out. The fact is you have to be at the right place at the right time and if you live in a smaller market, you're probably out of luck. That's no longer true thanks to Blue Comet Cafe.

The Blue Comet Cafe(TM) is a virtual showcase club featuring on-the-verge recording artists videotaped performing live and presented in on demand video.

Our "Main Stage" artists already play the best traditional venues in the country, if not the world. We offer them a much larger audience and we offer music lovers a reliable place to go to find the best new music. New songs and interview segments are rotated regularly.

How large is that audience? Music sites get half a million visitors per minute worldwide. Young men are the most frequent online video viewers, but US Internet users of all ages are getting into the act.

That is the main finding of BurstMedia's "Online Insights" report, conducted in December 2007. BurstMedia found that more than seven out of 10 adult US Internet users surveyed had viewed online video content. A majority of all age segments had watched online videos, including more than half of respondents age 65 and older.

Young men were viewing most often. More than a third of the 18-to-24-year-old male online video viewers in the survey reported that they watched once a day or more.

The Pew Internet & American Life Project, which regularly publishes studies on usage trends, found in July 2007 that an impressive 57% of all online adults have watched or downloaded videos online (although in general, online video consumers are more likely to be men than women), with 19% doing so on a daily basis. Usage skews far higher among those with broadband Internet connections, as might be expected. Similarly, Pew found that younger adults, particularly those in the 18-to-29 age bracket, consume online video at a significantly higher rate, with 31% watching or downloading on a daily basis. In terms of content, news, comedy, music, educational content and animation/cartoons are the categories of choice,

Meanwhile, the Online Publishers Association (OPA), the trade organization for online content providers, released its "Frames of Reference" study on online video users in July 2007, finding that heavy online video viewers tend to be male, young and affluent (marketers take note). Internet users are spending nearly half their online time visiting content, a 37% increase in share of time from four years ago.

All of this online video consumption naturally lends itself to exposure to online video advertisements. In fact, the OPA found that 80% of online video viewers have seen online video ads, and that overall, 52% took some kind of action after seeing an ad. Actions included checking out the company Web site, searching for more information about the product featured in the advertisement, clicking the banner ad that accompanied the video, chatting up family and friends about the product and making a purchase. In other words, the OPA study would suggest that online video ads drive three primary types of actions – searching for more information, spreading word-of-mouth (online or in person) and purchasing.

In March, we will introduce a social networking area where visitors, musicians, singer-songwriters, bands and fans will create their own profile pages, upload photos, bios and video clips. They will make friends, create groups and forums, and interact with like minded artists and fans worldwide.

We plan to periodically produce shoots where Blue Comet Cafe will videotape several artists for presentation on the Main Stage. The next shoot is tentatively planned for Los Angeles with Boston, Nashville, Austin and Toronto on the list of cities to visit.

How good is the talent? The best. The founders of Blue Comet Cafe both have long careers in the music industry and one, Larry Ahearn, has produced thousands of concerts and championed scores of emerging artists.

Starting at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA., Larry booked, promoted and produced many of the now legendary shows that took place during its "golden years." It's hard to find anyone who doesn't want to save money when buying big ticket items. There is no better feeling then buying a new car or a piece of real estate and knowing you got a great deal. If you are one of these bargain loving individuals then government seized and surplus auctions could be the perfect place for you.

Every year the government seizes thousands upon thousands of vehicles and other property as a result of criminal activity, tax liens, defaulted loans, and to pay back taxes that are owed. At the same time federal, state, and local governments replace their own properties which leaves them with a surplus of goods that need to be gotten rid of. Because storage space is limited and costly it is in these agencies best interest to get rid of these properties as quickly as possible. The best way to do this is to auction these seized and surplus properties off at discounted prices to the highest bidder.

The government has been auctioning off seized and surplus stuff for years but only those in the know knew about it. This has changed with the coming of the internet which has brought the auction scene to the general public. These auctions have always been open to anyone who wanted to attend but in many cases most people didn't know about them let alone when and where they were being held.

That's the beauty of the internet auction site, it will give you an updated list of auctions times and places along with the ability to preview the properties that are to be auctioned off. Government agencies are more then happy to provide information to these sites to help expedite the sale of these items. You will also find tips, tricks, and techniques to help make your auction experience a successful one.

Most of the goods and property found at these auctions are in good working order and have been well cared for. Even so it is still in your best interest to gather as much information about the items you are interested in before placing a bid. The good online auction sites will give you the ability to do this background research and better prepare you for the day the bidding starts.

Buying cheap properties at government seized and surplus auctions is a great way to save money. With online auctions now available it is now easier then ever to find and buy exactly what you are looking for.
